We build bankable climate impact companies at Industrial scales.
The most impactful use of your capital is increasing the number of investable climate solutions that institutional investors can finance.
Institutional investors face a difficult challenge, while they control much more than $100 trillion of capital around the planet which is rapidly changing. They look for stable steady investments over long timeframes in the 10 to 25 years. Their pensioners, customers, LPs are all applying pressure towards more rapid climate action, but they cannot take riskier investments due to their requirements of fiduciary responsibility for the capital. This often means that they can't make investments if risk is still present in an opportunity. What this practically translates to is their inability to finance early phase projects or technologies which have the capacity to make significant impacts in our climate goals. This doesn't even need to be new technology but even just a new project at the early planning phases and engineering work required for these projects to become bankable and de-risked.
By seeding the development and deployment of industrial scale opportunities which offset fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions in our atmosphere, a single project can reduce millions of tons of CO2 per year, and exist for 10 to 30 years or longer. It's these large scale projects which we need globally to be deploying at thousands of projects per year at scales much faster than we are today. We need to be spending around $4 trillion per year to tackle climate change. Currently this number is just over half a trillion dollars. We need to increase this by 3.5 Trillion dollars per year but the front-loaded nature of the investments, with the biggest increase required between 2026 and 2030. The capital required to deploy this quantity of assets, is lacking, and unable to take the risks necessary to move at the pace needed to meet the challenge.
